How To Use The Affiliate Prophet Taguchi Test Feature

One of the best features that Affiliate Prophet offers its users is its Taguchi testing feature.

Taguchi testing is a method of testing where you rotate different versions of specific elements of a landing page at the same time to see which landing page version gives the best conversions or at least shows ideal visitor behavior on the page.

Let’s take a look at some basic elements of a landing page that you can test:

  • Headline
  • Headline Color
  • An Image
  • Background Color

It is possible to test each of those elements simultaneously by rotating different versions of each element, for instance you can rotate 2-3 different headlines and 2-3 different headline colors (blue, red or black), while rotating two different images on the page, and rotating two different background colors.

What is needed however in traditional Taguchi testing is a huge traffic volume to be able to come up with plausible data to make a conclusion from. Some experts say that you would likely need 1000 visits to the landing page to be able to come up with something accurate.

How To Use Affiliate Prophet To Track WordPress Traffic

Affiliate Prophet is a very versatile piece of software and is efficient even for sites with dynamic content, content management sites and even blogs that are powered by WordPress.

The best way to use Affiliate Prophet with WordPress is to set up a Multi-Page campaign, then insert the tracking code that is created in the campaign, into the footer.php file of your WordPress theme. By simply adding this code, you are able to track all traffic on all pages.

One more thing I like to do is to add a mailing list form or newsletter opt-in into the sidebar of the blog and once someone signs in, I forward them to a thank you page. The thank you page is a separately created html page and not part of the WordPress system. This allows me to put an Affiliate Prophet thank you code that tracks the number of people who opt-in. This is a great way to track your conversion sources especially if you are building a list.
